Even though it is Autumn, the ticks are still active. Removing them carefully is very important. They attach to your dog, your cat or your body by a barbed mouth. If the mouth is left behind during removal an abscess can result. If the tick gets stressed during removal it may regurgitate – this injects the diseases they carry (several, which cause fevers and anaemias) into your animal’s body.
